Plymouth spirit praised
Plymouth assistant manager Kevin Summerfield was delighted with the attitude of his players after seeing them beat Scunthorpe 2-1 to go four points clear at the top of Division Three.

Scunthorpe went 1-0 up with an early goal from Martin Carruthers but Argyle fought back to win thanks to strikes from Paul Wotton and Marino Keith.

Summerfield thought Plymouth's players had shown character to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat by Shrewsbury on Saturday.

¿It is what we asked the lads to do after Saturday. They responded very well," he told the club's official website.

"They know they can play like that - they did it against Rushden and Hull.

¿When Scunthorpe scored, it came at a bad time for us, but we can play well enough to make chances and score at the other end and that is what happened."

The victory was Argyle's 11th in a row at their Home Park base.
