Peterhead part with manager Cooper and line up Sheran
Former Aberdeen player Cooper took over at Peterhead in 2008
Peterhead have parted company with manager Neale Cooper and former Cove Rangers boss John Sheran has agreed to be his replacement.
Cooper was in charge at Balmoor for three years and led the Blue Toon to last season's promotion play-offs.
However, defeat by Airdrie United meant Peterhead remained in Division Two and they currently sit bottom of the table, two points behind Stenhousemuir.
Sheran was previously in charge of Highland League side Cove.
Peterhead, who have taken just one point from their last eight matches, host Stenny on Tuesday evening and defender Bobby Mann has been installed as caretaker manager for the relegation encounter.
Sheran and prospective assistant Graeme Park are expected to watch the match with a view to taking over, possibly in time for Saturday's away match against Alloa Athletic.
Peterhead stated on their website: "With the club precariously positioned at the bottom of the League following a run of eight matches without victory, including seven defeats, Neale Cooper has left the club with immediate effect, his contract having been terminated by mutual consent.
"The club thanks Neale for all his efforts during his time as assistant manager and then manager of the club."
