Thistle to name Lambie's heir
Collins (left) is understood to be favourite for the post
Partick Thistle are set to announce a successor to manager John Lambie at the start of next week.
The 62-year-old Firhill boss will quit the Jags this summer after guiding the club to the Scottish Premier League from the Second Division in successive seasons.
Assistant boss Gerry Collins is favourite to take over from Lambie but Partick chief executive Alan Dick insists the board have still to rubber-stamp any appointment. Dick said: "The board meets tomorrow (Thursday) and it is one of the items on the agenda for discussion. "There will be no formal announcement until Monday because the manager wants to concentrate on Sunday's game at Kilmarnock." Right-hand man Collins has served his time as Lambie's No 2 through their days at Hamilton, Falkirk and Partick.
