Kelvin Thomas says that a trip to the USA will be a first for Oxford United
Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas has revealed that the club are planning a week-long trip to the United States as pre-season preparation this summer.
The idea came about through the club's links with Virgin Atlantic and New England-based team Seacoast United.
"We're talking about going to Boston in pre-season," said Thomas.
"We've got some great links with Seacoast United over there, and should hopefully have some details next week," he told BBC Radio Oxford.
There have also been talks about a friendly with MLS side New England Revolution - though that fixture may be played behind closed doors.
"We're all pretty excited by it. It will be a first for the club and an exciting time," added Thomas.
