Oxford have signed Luton striker Tom Craddock on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee and Doncaster's Josh Payne on a month's loan.

Craddock, 23, started his career at Middlesbrough and has spent the last two years with the Hatters.

Midfielder Payne, 19, has figured once for Rovers since signing a six-month deal from West Ham in July and could make his debut against Aldershot.

He told BBC Oxford: "I just want to play and enjoy football."

Payne, who has enjoyed loan spells at Cheltenham, Wycombe Wanderers and Colchester, added: "We're playing Aldershot tonight, and I only live about 20 minutes from there."

Craddock will not be available for the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie and boss Chris Wilder said: "Tom is a player who we have admired for some time. He has pace, an eye for a goal and bags of ability.

"He has been a consistent scorer for the last two seasons and has done it at this level before. He is hungry for success and a great age and we think he will do very well for us."
