Oxford striker James Constable eager for Wembley win

Oxford United striker James Constable has unfinished business at Wembley when he returns there for next Sunday's Conference play-off final against York.

Constable and team-mate Mark Creighton were in the Kidderminster Harriers team which tasted defeat there to Stevenage in the 2007 FA Trophy final.

And it was particularly painful for Constable whose two goals put Harriers two up, only for his side to lose 3-2.

"It's possibly the worst feeling in the world to go there and lose," he said.

"I don't want that again and I am determined to put it right.

"It will be a tough game against York but we will be doing everything we can to get the right result," Constable told BBC Oxford.

While Constable is Oxford's top scorer this season with 25 goals, he did not find the net in either of the U's two league meetings with York.

In fact, his old Harriers team-mate Creighton ought to have happier memories of the first of those two games - the season opener at the Kassam Stadium back in early August.

Summer signing Creighton's injury-time strike on his debut proved to be the U's last-minute winner, having trailed 1-0 with three minutes left - and it remains the only goal he has scored this season.

This season's other league encounter also proved a tightly contested affair, Oxford again needing a late goal, from Simon Clist this time, to earn a 1-1 draw at Bootham Crescent in October.
