Oxford sign Rangers pair on loan

Oxford United have signed Rangers duo Ross Perry and Steven Kinniburgh on loan until January.

Neither player has featured for the Gers first team but both impressed United boss Chris Wilder in a reserve-team friendly against Oxford in July.

Centre-back Perry, 19, has been called into the Scotland under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifier in Austria next week.

Versatile Kinniburgh, 20, played for Queen of the South on loan last term.

Perry told BBC Oxford: "Obviously we are here to try and improve ourselves, but not just that - we are here to do a job for Oxford.

"If they feel we are a valuable addition to the squad then great. We are here to try and push them on in the league as well as improve ourselves."

Kinniburgh is a player that Oxford expect to use as an attacking left-back. He says that he needs to play at a more competitive level after his time in the reserves at Ibrox.
