Oxford United defender Rhys Day will be out for three weeks after picking up a knee ligament injury.
The former Aldershot centre-back underwent a scan which revealed the full extent of the problem.
"It is a bit of a nightmare," said Day, who suffered the injury on his full debut in last week's 2-1 victory over Stevenage at the Kassam Stadium.
"Football has a funny way of doing that to you. One consolation is I saved a certain goal making that challenge."
Meanwhile fellow defender Shane Killock has joined AFC Telford on loan in a bid to gain match practice.
