Guy set to make Colchester return

On-loan Oxford United striker Jamie Guy is set to return to Colchester United following Saturday's match at Eastbourne, reports BBC Oxford.

The 21-year-old was originally due to stay at Oxford for the whole season.

But both clubs have changed managers since the deal was struck and Colchester boss Paul Lambert has confirmed Guy will return to Essex.

His stay at the Kassam Stadium has been blighted by minor injuries, resulting in a return of just two goals.

Guy's return to Colchester will heighten Oxford manager Chris Wilder's search for new players to bring in during the January transfer window.

And Wilder said he was confident of attracting new talent to the club.

"We want to strengthen the squad and we have two or three things lined up," said Wilder.

"There may be some funds freed up in January and hopefully we can use that money wisely."
