Oxford United have made their second summer signing with the acquisition of left back Chris Carruthers.
The former England Under-20 international has previously played for Northampton and Bristol Rovers.
Carruthers, 24, progressed through the youth ranks at the Cobblers and went on to make over 70 appearances for the first-team of the Sixfields outfit.
He then moved to Bristol Rovers after a loan period at the Memorial Ground but was released at the end of last season.
