Pre-season delight for Patterson

Darren Patterson is delighted with Oxford's pre-season schedule.

Oxford United manager Darren Patterson has expressed his delight that the club have secured two glamour pre-season friendlies at the Kassam Stadium.

United will face a Manchester United XI on 26 July, followed by FA Cup winners Portsmouth on 4 August.

"It's fantastic that we have attracted the likes of Man United and Portsmouth," Patterson told BBC Oxford.

"Some of the games are excellent. The whole pre-season is absolutely first class."

Saturday, 12 July: Brackley Town (a) 1500 BST

Tuesday, 15 July: Banbury United (a) 1945 BST

Saturday, 19 July: Maidenhead United (a)
