Oxford frustrated by Foster ban

Oxford United must go into their next match without defender Luke Foster after his farcical sending-off against Northwich Victoria.

He was dismissed by referee Adam Watts, who appeared not to immediately realise he had already booked Foster when he brandished a second yellow card.

Oxford captain Barry Quinn said of his defensive partner: "It's a shame because Luke's had a great season."

"Luke has made me improve my game too," added ex-Republic of Ireland man Quinn.

Foster's place in the side is likely to go to teenager James Clarke.
