Oxford have signed defender David Woozley on a two-year deal, after he rejected a new contract at Torquay.
Woozley rejected a new contract at Plainmoor
Boss Graham Rix told BBC Radio Oxford: "I've seen him play, I like what I see. He's a big guy, left-footed, bit of pace, and a good acquisition for us."
The 24-year-old moved to Torquay in March 2002, following a successful loan spell from Crystal Palace.
He had a spell as captain at Plainmoor, but missed most of last season with a knee injury.
The move comes a day after Oxford's capture of ex-Portsmouth striker Lee Bradbury from Walsall.
