Oxford target Widdrington
Former Hartlepool midfielder Tommy Widdrington could be set for an immediate return to Division Three after being targeted by Oxford manager Ian Atkins.

The 31-year-old has been training with newly-promoted Pools despite being released by the club in the summer.

But he impressed in a 4-0 win over Oxford City this week and Atkins could make him his sixth summer signing.

"I have two or three midfielders in mind who could fit the bill, and Tom has moved to the top of the list," Atkins told the Oxford Mail newspaper.

"When we played against him at Hartlepool he ran the show. He has Premiership experience and people like him are few and far between."
