Kassam's ground anger
The Firoz Kassam Stadium will not be home to Wasps next season
Kassam wants rugby played at Oxford's ground
Oxford chairman Firoz Kassam has criticised the local authority for their lack of support over his attempt's to host rugby at the Kassam Stadium on a regular basis.

Kassam wanted Oxford to groundshare with Wasps rugby union club next season.

Instead of supporting the club certain parts of the local government are more concerned about the noise levels from a jazz band at half-time

But Wasps have now agreed a deal to share Wycombe Wanderers ground, Adams Park, for the nest two seasons after Wycombe's local council approved the proposals.

Oxford's hopes of sharing with Wasps were complicated by problems relating to the issue of planning permission.

"I think it is an example of how local authorities vary so much," Kassam told the club's official website.

"Some are helpful, while others seem to simply throw obstacles in your path.

"There were problems with traffic, parking and other things at Wycombe, but the local authorities bent over backwards to help the club.

"We have wonderful facilities here, and are hosting a national rugby final on Sunday.

"But instead of supporting the club certain parts of the local government are more concerned about preventing us from having a jazz band playing for 15 minutes at a match because of noise levels."
