Oldham Athletic have terminated the contracts of midfielder Rob Purdie, goalkeeper Greg Fleming and defender Kelvin Lomax.

Purdie, 28, joined the club in May 2009 but injured himself in his first training session and spelt the whole of last season on the sidelines.

Fleming, 24, joined from Gretna and had a spell last season at Dunfermline.

Lomax, also 24, has been at Oldham since 2004 and had a loan spell at Chesterfield this season.

A statement on Oldham's website said the players had been released to find new clubs in the transfer window and Purdie has joined Hereford.

The midfielder has signed a deal at Edgar Street until the end of the season.
