Brian Talbot saluted a brave defensive display from his Oldham side after they stunned Manchester City in the FA Cup.
"The players battled their socks off and put their bodies on the line," he said of the 1-0 third-round victory.
"We took the game to them, and got a great goal from a set-piece. They threw everything at us in the second half but couldn't get past our goalkeeper.
"He was inspired, the two centre-halves were magnificent and all around them people were diving in making blocks."
Talbot also singled out goalscorer Scott Vernon and veteran winger David Eyres for praise.
"Scott went to Blackpool on loan to get some match-practice and has come back more confident," he added.
"He's a good player and hopefully going to go on from this.
"David gets plenty of rest to recover. I gave him five days last week and he'll want a week now after this. He gets better with age!"
