Eyres ponders Oldham offer
David Eyres
Eyres has spent almost four years at Oldham
Veteran Oldham midfielder David Eyres has been offered a new deal to stay at Boundary Park.

Eyres has until 1 June to decide whether to accept the 12-month offer.

The 40-year-old, who spent part of last season as the Latics' player-coach, joined Oldham in October 2000 and has started 145 games for the club.

The left-sided midfielder previously had lengthy spells with Preston, Burnley and Blackpool and has made more than 700 league and cup appearances.

Oldham boss Brian Talbot has also offered 21-year-old defender Will Haining a three-year deal, while midfielder Mark Bonner has been offered a new two-year contract.

Talbot also wants to keep former Bolton forward Jermaine Johnson, who has been offered a 12-month deal following a successful loan spell at Boundary Park last season.

However, former Barnsley and Wigan midfielder Darren Sheridan has been released following a three-year stay at Oldham.
