Oldham close in on new boss
Sheridan has been caretaker manager since Iain Dowie left
Oldham say they have identified who they want as their new manager.

Caretaker boss John Sheridan and assistant David Eyres have been in charge since Iain Dowie left to take the reins at Crystal Palace.

Chief executive Alan Hardy explained: There will be no announcement until next week at the earliest.

"We know who we want and are trying to put things in place. There are hurdles to get over but we're nearing the stage when we can make an announcement."
