Sheridan plea to Latics
John Sheridan
Caretaker-boss John Sheridan called for a new manager to be appointed at Oldham sooner rather than later - but admits he would like to fill the role himself.

"It's unfair on the players," he said after the 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.

"Someone might come in soon, but it would be better if the lads knew what's going on. Hopefully it'll be soon as we need to get out of this dogfight.

"I'm still keen to have (the job) but we desperately need to bring some players in to strengthen the team."
