Watson joins Oldham
Oldham Athletic have appointed former Barnsley number one David Watson as their new goalkeeping coach.

Twenty-eight-year-old Watson replaces ex-Latics keeper John Hallworth, who has left Boundary Park due to business commitments.

Watson had been coaching the goalkeepers at Northampton Town after being forced to retire as a player towards the end of last season.

The former England Under-21 international made 202 appearances for Barnsley before being injured in a game against Norwich City in September 1998.

He spent two-and-a-half years fighting to regain fitness before being forced to hang up his boots and concentrate on a coaching career.

His move to Oldham will see him re-united him with former Barnsley coach Mick Wadsworth, who is now in charge at Oldham.
