Lee Hughes angered by Notts County substitute role
Injury has restricted Hughes to 11 starts this season
Notts County striker Lee Hughes has expressed his anger at being left out of the starting XI for Saturday's 2-0 home victory over MK Dons.
The 34-year-old came off the bench to score his third goal in three games.
Hughes told BBC Radio Nottingham he expected to start. "I was unhappy but it's up to the boss," he said.
Manager Paul Ince said: "Hughesy is 34 and cannot play week in week out. But he's never come and said 'I should be starting'. He's been different class."
But Hughes maintained: "If you're 100% fit, you know you've trained hard and have scored two goals in two games then you hope to start.
"It's disappointing not starting having scored two in the last two games - but it's one of those things. It's up to the gaffer."
