Notts County have appointed Gary Townsend as their new chief executive.
Townsend, who spent seven years in various roles at Manchester United, has left his role as head of Everton's human resources programme.
The 36-year-old will take charge of the day-to-day running of the club, with Peter Trembling staying on as executive chairman at Meadow Lane.
Trembling told the club website: "I worked with Gary at Everton; he is an outstanding football administrator."
Townsend added: "I thank Peter for the opportunity to be part of the challenge of making County great again.
"My time at Everton and also with the Everton Tigers basketball club has involved a great deal of work within the community and experience of growing fan-bases, and this is something I feel will be particularly applicable to the project at Meadow Lane."
