Magpies honour ex-trainer Wheeler

Notts County

Notts County have announced that they will rename the Meadow Club after former trainer Jack Wheeler.

Wheeler served the Magpies for 26 years from 1956, which included a spell as caretaker manager.

"Many people believe Jack's contribution has never been properly recognised," Magpies chairman John Armstrong-Holmes said.

"At a time when he is not too well, hopefully the news of our plans will help to speed up his recovery."

'Wheeler's', as the club will now be known, will be open for supporters before and after matches.
