Notts County manager Gudjon Thordarson has admitted he wants to sign Stoke striker Bruce Dyer on loan, reports BBC Radio Nottingham.
The Icelander has been in negotiations with the Championship club over the past couple of days and has also held talks with the 30-year-old.
The former Watford, Crystal Palace and Barnsley striker has spent the last two months on loan with Millwall.
County are looking for a forward after Glynn Hurst left for Shrewsbury.
