Davies accepts lack of transfers

Billy Davies
Forest have lost just once in five games since Davies' arrival

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies has said he understands why the club were unable to add to the squad in January.

The Championship club made written offers for four players, but signed no-one, to the frustration of supporters.

Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham: "What you find is inflated prices, you find it very difficult to get things done.

"We made several attempts and we targeted a number of players, but unfortunately the financial agreements couldn't be reached."

The Reds boss has said he will just have to work with what he has got at the City Ground.

"My job is to work with the players available. It's heads-down, sleeves-up time," he said.

"What we will do is galvanise every squad player in that dressing room, we'll get the spirit right and we'll work very hard to keep ourselves in the division."
