Calderwood demands top six streak

Calderwood's Forest are just one point from safety in the Championship.

Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood has challenged his players to match the form of the top six Championship sides in the new year.

The Reds have only been beaten twice in their last eleven games, but six of those matches have been drawn.

"Our run isn't so bad," Calderwood told BBC Radio Nottingham, "But we've got to have a few more wins in it than draws.

"We've got to be a top six team in the second half of the season, in terms of the points we pick up."

Forest's 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday was exactly the type of performance Calderwood is hoping to see consistently from his players.

"It's a winning mentality that I think you can see in the team now. It was a mature second half performance.

"Against a lot of teams in this division, it's actually easier to play away from home."
