Cole has failed to score in 11 games since his summer switch to Forest
Striker Andrew Cole has left Nottingham Forest, the club has confirmed.
The 37-year-old has failed to score in 11 games for Forest this season and speculation had mounted that his contract was to be cancelled.
"It's a shame things haven't worked out as we planned," boss Colin Calderwood told the club website.
"We came to the joint conclusion that it was best we went our separate ways. I want to place on record my thanks for the contribution Andrew has made."
Former Manchester United, Newcastle and England striker Cole only joined Forest in July after leaving Sunderland.
