Nottingham Forest's former England striker Andrew Cole has revealed that Burnley boss Owen Coyle helped change his mind about retiring last season.
Cole spent three months of last season with Saturday's opponents and told BBC Radio Nottingham he had seriously considered hanging up his boots.
"Most definitely," said the 36-year-old. "But I went to Burnley and spoke to Owen and got a great vibe.
"He brought the best out of me and made me feel a lot younger than my age."
Cole, who turns 37 later this year, could make his first Reds start in the match at the City Ground.
In an illustrious career including spells with Newcastle, Manchester United, Blackburn, Portsmouth and Manchester City, Cole has scored 229 league goals in 428 starts.
