Forest set to land striker Cole

Cole will be hoping to partner Earnshaw

Former Manchester United and Newcastle striker Andrew Cole is to join Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.

The 36-year-old will sign a 12-month deal next week having been released by Sunderland at the end of last season.

Cole will become the fourth player added by the newly-promoted Championship side in the close season.

Manager Colin Calderwood has also signed Robert Earnshaw for £2.65m, midfielder Paul Anderson, on loan from Liverpool, and Frenchman Guy Moussi.
