Holt has Reds future - Calderwood

Nottingham Forest striker Grant Holt
Grant Holt scored just three goals for Forest last season

Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood insists that striker Grant Holt has a future with the Championship club, despite the signing of Rob Earnshaw.

Holt, who spent the end of last season on loan at Blackpool, has been linked with a move to Hartlepool and Carlisle, his home-town club.

But Calderwood told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The speculation will arise because Grant was out on loan.

"But there's no door open, and there's no door closed."
