Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of defender Julian Bennett from Walsall for an undisclosed fee.
Bennett is returning to play for his home-town club
The 21-year-old Nottingham-born left-back travelled to the City Ground on Tuesday to discuss personal terms with the Reds and undergo a medical.
"Lots of other teams, including ones in the Championship, were showing interest in me, but this is my home-town club and it's a dream come true," he said.
Boss Gary Megson added: "Julian is a player I've tracked for some time."
Bennett broke into the Walsall side as a central defender but has staked a regular spot at left-back.
Since making his debut last season, Bennett has made more than 50 appearances for the Saddlers.
