Nottingham Forest striker David Johnson has had an injection in his back to try and ease the problem which ruled him out of Saturday 2-0 win over Southend.
The 29-year-old has been troubled by the injury for some time and boss Gary Megson hopes he will start to recover.
"It's not just a normal bad back, he's got a problem with it which is going to need some managing," said Megson.
"He's had it for around a month and he's had one injection that helped him. It doesn't get rid of it but it helps."
