Nottingham Forest manager Gary Megson has appointed Walsall first-team coach Frank Barlow as his assistant after missing out on Frank Burrows.

Barlow has been appointed on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Burrows, who had been Megson's number two at West Brom, declined an offer to re-form their partnership at the City Ground due to family reasons.

Barlow has managed Scunthorpe and Chesterfield and also had a five-year spell as assistant at Bristol City.
