Norwich City captain Grant Holt says the side have set their sights on winning the Championship after a successful season following promotion.

The Canaries suffered just their third away defeat of the season at Burnley on Saturday, which saw the side slip from second to fourth in the table.

But Holt told BBC Radio Norfolk: "We always look forward, QPR is the team to catch. That's what we're after.

"People say we're overachieving but we are there, we want to win the league."

He added: "We know we're in a position where we can do it. We're doing well, nobody expects us to be there and we are.

"We've got a fantastic belief and desire to stay up there, and anyone looking from the outside can see from our performances that we deserve to be there," he added.

Holt, who joined the Norfolk team after their relegation to League One in 2009, was made captain by boss Paul Lambert and went on to be top-scorer as they romped to the title.

And he admitted that the team had adopted a pragmatic attitude to the Championship at the start of the campaign, adding: "We started the season realistic that it was (a season of) consolidation, but we've done better than we believed.

"We've played in a way that deserves to be there and if we can stay there then fantastic," he said.
