Arsenal's Henri Lansbury joins Norwich City

Norwich City have signed Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury on a 28-day emergency loan deal.

Lansbury, 20, scored five times in 39 appearances during a spell with fellow Championship side Watford last season.

City boss Paul Lambert told the club's website: "I'm delighted Arsenal have agreed to let Henri come here.

"We have been hit with injuries and midfield is one of the areas we need strengthening. Henri gives us more options in there which is important."

The Gunners youth product has featured six times for Arsene Wenger's side, with his only Premier League appearance coming as a substitute in a 4-0 win over Fulham in May.

He scored four goals in 13 starts during a three-month loan stint at Scunthorpe United starting in February 2009.

"I saw him when he was at Watford and Scunthorpe and he's a quality young player, very positive in his play," Lambert added.

Stuart Pearce gave Lansbury his first England Under-21 start against Germany last week, but his debut ended in bizarre fashion when he finished the game in goal after Jason Steele's sending-off.
