Norwich City pair Holt and Jackson happy to join forces

Grant Holt and Simeon Jackson admit they have slotted into a comfortable strike partnership for Norwich City.

The pair led the line in back-to-back victories for the Canaries before the international break.

Holt, 29, told BBC Radio Norfolk: "We've got different attributes, which you need. We know what we can do, he came in and did well.

Jackson, 23, added: "As a little striker you love playing with a big striker, you have to mix and match."

Canada international Jackson came into Paul Lambert's starting line-up at the expense of fellow frontman Chris Martin, who has lost his place after scoring just once in 10 games this season.

"I'm obviously disappointed for Chrissy, who's playing well, but the manager changed it and went for a different style," said Holt.

"He'll get his time, he'll come back. It could be at mine or Simeon's expense, but he'll bide his time.

"That's the kind of player he is. I'm sure once he gets in he'll take his chance again."

City sit third in the Championship following three wins from their last four games but head to leaders QPR on Saturday, a side who have yet to concede a goal at home this season.

However Jackson, who was on the score sheet in Canada's 2-2 draw with Ukraine last week, is in confident mood.

"It's a really big test for us but it's nothing I don't think we're capable of dealing with," he said.

"We just want to keep the momentum going, especially after a little break.

"It's important to come out first game back and get something."
