Norwich City complete John Ruddy signing

Everton goalkeeper John Ruddy has signed a three-year deal with Norwich City after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old started his career at Cambridge United, playing 41 times, before joining the Toffees in a £250,000 switch in 2005.

Despite just one substitute appearance at Everton, Ruddy has featured on loan at eight different clubs.

He spent the whole of last season with Scottish Premier club Motherwell.

The St Ives-born stopper featured 37 times at Fir Park in his most successful loan spell to date.

Motherwell manager Craig Brown had hoped that Everton would want to farm Ruddy out to Fir Park again next season.

However, the SPL outfit on Thursday signed Darren Randolph on his departure from Charlton Athletic, having already secured former Airdrie United goalkeeper Lee Hollis earlier this summer.

Crewe, Stockport and Wrexham are among Ruddy's other short-term clubs.

His only Premier League appearance came during Everton's 1-0 win over Blackburn in February 2006, replacing Iain Turner who was sent off in the ninth minute.
