Norwich aim to boost squad
Norwich City boss Nigel Worthington is keen to make some on-loan signings as the club push for promotion.

The Canaries are chasing a place in the First Divsion play-offs and are just a point outside the qualification zone.

Worthington believes bringing fresh blood to Carrow Road will take some of the pressure off his injury-hit squad.

"We're scanning the loan market to see what's out there," he told the club's website.

"I would like to bring a couple of bodies in just to keep the numbers up."

An FA Cup run, which ended in a 2-0 defeat to Southampton, coupled with league action has already taken its toll.

Defender Craig Fleming and midfielder Phil Mulryne both picked up niggling injuries after the trip to St Mary's.

"Mulryne's taken a knee to the bottom of his back," Worthington revealed.

"Hopefully that'll settle down over the next couple of days.

"Fleming's tweaked his knee ligaments and they'll both be having intensive treatment during the week."

Experienced defensive midfielder Darren Kenton is also out of action with a dead leg while Malky Mackay and Steen Nedergaard are both facing suspensions.
