Northwich boss hails Byrne deal
Michael Byrne
Byrne made just one first-team appearance for Stockport
Northwich manager Steve Burr has welcomed the signing of ex-Stockport striker Michael Byrne - while allowing Mark Briggs to join Redditch United.

Byrne, 19, was recently released by County, but has agreed a deal until the end of the season with Vics.

He made his debut in Tuesday's 1-0 win at Hereford in the GLS Cup.

"We're pleased to have got him. We watched him a few times in the reserves for Stockport and he did well on his debut," Burr said.

Byrne, who scored on his only appearance for Stockport, also scored three times during a loan spell at Leigh RMI earlier this season.
