Sixfields to host university American Football

Northampton Town

Northampton Town's Sixfields stadium will host American Football next year when they team up with the British Universities American Football League.

The top teams from the Northern and Southern Conferences will feature in the BUAFL National Championships.

"This venue offers the players and fans a great game-day experience," said BAFA director for student football development Andy Fuller.

"Sixfields will serve as the venue for the Championship's pinnacle event."

Town stadium manager Avril Spraggon said: "We are delighted and honoured to welcome the BUAFL to Sixfields."

The BUAFL National Championship game will kick-off at 1600 GMT on Sunday, 9 May.
