Cups not a distraction - Beckwith

Beckwith has made 14 appearances for the Cobblers this season

Northampton defender Dean Beckwith has said that the Cobblers' cup exploits will not distract them from improving their league position.

Town are through to the second round of the FA Cup and area quarter-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, but lie 16th in League Two.

"The players know that we want to get out of League Two," Beckwith told BBC Radio Northampton.

"You want to win the cup games and take it that into the league games."
