Giles Coke has made nearly 150 senior appearances for the Cobblers
Northampton Town midfielder Giles Coke has agreed to sign a new deal to stay at Sixfields.
The 23-year-old former Mansfield Town man will sign the contract offered to him at the end of last season when he returns from holiday.
"He is a player with a huge amount of natural ability and a lot of potential," said boss Stuart Gray.
"He was very influential for us the season before last with some important goals from midfield."
Gray added: "He is one who has been monitored by some clubs in the Championship in the past and that doesn't happen unless you are a good player.
"People forget that Giles will still only be 23 this coming season.
"He has already got nearly 150 senior games under his belt and I am sure he will only get better.
"His decision to stay is another piece of the jigsaw for us and I think he will benefit from the experience we have added to the squad through Steve Guinan and Craig Hinton."
"Competition for places in central midfield will be tough with Giles, Luke Guttridge, Abdul Osman, Ryan Gilligan and Alex Dyer all competing for places, with Danny Jackman also able to play there."
