Gray backs his players to stay up

Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray has backed his players to secure the point they need to avoid relegation at home to Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday.

The Cobblers took a big step towards League One survival with Saturday's crucial 2-1 victory over Hereford United at Sixfields.

"We're in control of our own destiny now," Gray told BBC Radio Northampton.

"And it's not a game that we have to win - it's just a case of trying to get a point."

"It starts at 0-0 and I suppose I would take that at the end," he said.

"But I'm sure that any 11 players I pick for Tuesday will go out and put on a good performance."

Northampton are currently in 19th place with two matches left, and will want to secure their League One status before travelling to Leeds United on the final day of the season.
