Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray has backed his chairman after David Cardoza's outburst in the club programme at the weekend.
Cardoza attacked the small minority of Cobblers fans who, he believes, use the media to criticise his leadership.
Some fans have accused Cardoza of asset-stripping which the chairman described as "uninformed rubbish."
"He's invested a lot of money and his heart is into Northampton," Gray told BBC Radio Northampton.
"Unfortunately it's an expensive business running a football club.
"Supporters come and they pay their money but I'd rather they get behind the team than not support the team.
"But it's a minority, you can't stop it."
Writing in the club programme for Saturday's 1-0 win over Hartlepool, Cardoza commented on "an awful lot of doom and gloom written by a small number of supporters in the media who seem to wish us harm."
