Cobblers sign striker Constantine

Constantine is not part of Leeds boss Gary McAllister's plans

Northampton Town have won the race to sign striker Leon Constantine on a free transfer from Leeds.

The 30-year-old returned to Leeds towards the end of last season after a loan spell at Oldham but has now been deemed surplus to requirements.

"He's got a physical presence and a proven scoring record at this level," said Cobblers boss Stuart Gray.

"There were a lot of clubs in for him but I've got a good relationship with his agent and we've done a deal."
