Northampton have named John Gorman as their new manager on a two-year deal, in succession to Colin Calderwood, who has joined Nottingham Forest.
Gorman was part of Glenn Hoddle's England coaching set-up
Gorman was Wycombe manager last season, taking them on a 21-game unbeaten league run, but was released from his contract at the end of the season.
"He has a wealth of experience and has countless contacts at all levels," said chairman David Cardoza.
"He plays attacking, football and his record proves he gets results."
Gorman is currently out of the country but club general manager Tony Clarke said he was already familiarising himself with the job.
"At the moment he has a long standing engagement that means he is abroad, but that has not stopped him cracking on with things," he said.
"He is spending a lot of time on the phone talking to our current players, as well as those out of contract and possible new signings.
"He is busy at work already and getting down to business."
