Calderwood eyes recovery
Northampton manager Colin Calderwood
Northampton boss Colin Calderwood says they will not give up despite conceding a two-goal deficit to Mansfield after their play-off semi-final first leg.

"We have got a huge task on now to pick up the players before Thursday and the second leg," said Calderwood.

"It's Mansfield's game to lose but the fact they didn't get the third goal means we are still in with a chance.

"We created a lot of chances but in this situation it is the result which is all important."

Calderwood revealed that French striker Eric Sabin, suspended for the Sixfields game, would come straight back into the side for the second leg.

Sabin's return will come as a relief to Calderwood, who revealed that both Martin Smith and Marc Richards were struggling with illness ahead of the game.

He added: "Eric will pose Mansfield a new set of problems, but they will also be a different proposition in front of their fans and we have to cope with that."
