Hughton is adamant no further players will leave during the window
Newcastle United caretaker manager Chris Hughton believes he can now look ahead for the rest of the season knowing the squad he has to work with.
Xisco has joined Racing Santander and Fabio Zamblera has left for Roma, both on loan, and Hughton senses those deals signal an end to the departures.
"I'm very confident there will be no more outgoings," he told BBC Newcastle.
"For me it's probably more important than what will come in because we have to keep this group together."
The Magpies remain unbeaten under Hughton's stewardship, with four wins and a draw from their first five matches in the Championship.
And without experienced players such as Shola Ameobi, Fabricio Coloccini, Nicky Butt, Jonas Gutierrez and Andy Carroll, Hughton was impressed with the mentality of his young side in going top of the division with Monday's 1-0 home win over Leicester.
"It speaks volumes for the 11 players that were on the park, it speaks volumes for a very young bench that we were able to give them some of them an experience of first-team football," he said.
"Nile Ranger will get better as each game goes by. When you look at the bench that was the youngest bench that I've had since I have been here and the result is a testament to all of them."
