Taylor came on as a sub in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Stoke.
Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor believes the team has the quality to stay in the Premier League despite a run of five games without a win.
The Magpies threw away a two-goal lead in the 2-2 draw with Stoke on Saturday and Taylor feels they should be more ruthless when leading in matches.
"I believe we have enough to get out of trouble," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.
"If we go in 2-0 up at half time then we expect to win, we just need to see out games."
Taylor came on as a substitute in the match, which marked Newcastle's seventh draw of the season - more than any club in the top flight.
And the 22-year-old admitted he was disappointed by the manner in which Newcastle collapsed and believes they must show more nerve when the pressure is on.
"We were too defensive for my liking, but no matter what team you're up against we've got to do our jobs," he said.
"You can't get out done by these players. Alright they're big, but do they have the heart? I think with our players, we know we have.
"We're very determined but it wasn't to be against Stoke on Saturday."
